Leeds Half Marathon training plan
A free plan counted back from race day and built for a road, city course. Answer three questions and see every week before you sign up.
16 weeks to 9 May
Weekly distance for a runner doing 10–25 km now. Start later and Kyrvo shortens the base phase.
Coaching notes for this course
When we checked, the only way to secure a place was a season ticket such as the Leeds DUO (this race plus the Leeds 10K). You can register your interest on the Run For All page to hear when general entry opens, and charities may also offer places.
Leeds Half Marathon questions
When should I start training for the Leeds Half Marathon?
Most runners need 12–16 weeks. Counting back from Sunday 9 May 2027, a 16-week plan starts on Monday 18 January 2027 and a 12-week plan on Monday 15 February 2027. Start later and Kyrvo shortens the base phase.
How hilly is the Leeds Half Marathon?
Run For All publishes an elevation map on the race page. We have not copied a climb figure because we could not verify one, so check the map for the current route.
Where does it start?
At Headingley Stadium, with a 10:00 am start listed by Run For All for 2027. Confirm times with the organiser.
Is it the same as the Leeds Running Festival?
No. The Leeds Running Festival is at Roundhay Park on 28 March 2027 and is a different event.
Can I get a place?
When we last checked, general entry had not opened and a season ticket such as the Leeds DUO was the way to secure a place. You can register your interest with Run For All. Runners must be 17 or over on race day.
Do I need to sign up to see the plan?
No. Answer three questions to see your full plan. Create a free account only if you want to save it and have it adapt.
Is Kyrvo really free?
Yes. Kyrvo is free to use. Any race or kit links that earn us a fee are clearly labelled, and we never sell your data.
