Sheffield Half Marathon questions
When should I start training for the Sheffield Half Marathon?
Most runners need 12–16 weeks. Counting back from Sunday 4 April 2027, a 16-week plan starts on Monday 14 December 2026 and a 12-week plan on Monday 11 January 2027. Start later and Kyrvo shortens the base phase.
How hilly is the Sheffield Half Marathon?
Very, for a half. The route climbs to Ringinglow, and the organiser times a hill climb (the Peaks Challenge) as well as a 10K downhill section starting on Hathersage Road. Check the organiser’s elevation map for the numbers.
Is Sheffield a good PB course?
Because of the climb to Ringinglow, most runners treat it as a scenic challenge rather than a PB race. If a fast time matters, choose a flatter half.
Where does the Sheffield Half Marathon start and finish?
Both in the city centre, on Arundel Gate, with a 9:30 am start listed by Run For All for 2027. Check the organiser for any changes.
Can I get a place?
Entry was open on the Run For All page when we last checked, and charities list places with a fundraising target. Runners must be 17 or over on race day. Entry details change, so check the organiser’s page.
Do I need to sign up to see the plan?
No. Answer three questions to see your full plan. Create a free account only if you want to save it and have it adapt.
Is Kyrvo really free?
Yes. Kyrvo is free to use. Any race or kit links that earn us a fee are clearly labelled, and we never sell your data.
